The Fornasetti ice bucket was presented for the first time in connection to the Milan Design Week 2022. The original drawing was conceived by Piero Fornasetti in the late 1950s. Today it is re-designed with brand new details, materials, décors and colour variations. The ancient gold keys decoration evokes the past and it is still hand-finished today.
Piero Fornasetti (1913-1988) was an Italian painter, sculptor and designer who created more than 13,000 products during his career with a distinctive design style that is immediately recognisable. He is considered one of the 20th century’s foremost creative talents. Svenskt Tenn’s founder Estrid Ericson was friends with Piero Fornasetti and they had a great mutual respect for each other’s creations. They began working together in 1946. Today, Piero Fornasetti’s son, Barnaba, is perpetuating the tradition.
